No, we are not fighting a war for the oil companies. If the oil companies were in control of the oil fields in Iraq, the price of oil would not be as high as it now. Oil is a universally used fuel resource that has come under higher demand as third world countries, like China and India, begin to become modernized. Between those two countries, billions of people are starting to drive more automobiles. As these countries under go this transition, oil is used to fuel the construction. If people in The United States want to see a decrease in the price of fuel, they need to become less dependent on it for their everyday needs. Use public transportation, carpool, drive slower, walk, buy hybrids, check tire pressure on all your vehicles, use ethanol based fuels, and write to your Congressional Representatives and tell them you want this country to ween itself off of fossil fuels. It does no good to just complain to the average citizen when that person, who undoubtedly agrees with you, has no power to change anything. No power, that is, beyond making sure the people they elect to represent them act in their best interest. So, no, we are not fighting a war for the oil companies.

Not for the oil companies, but definitely for oil.
I don't think most people realize that over 50 per cent of the world's oil has been used up. They ain't making any more oil, folks. What's there right now is all that's left. And Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia are sitting on top of most of it.
Do you have any idea what would happen to America if the oil flow was shut off? Well, don't worry about it, because it won't be. We'll fight for the oil if we have to. And we will have to. It turns out there are some other people in the world besides USA who want that oil. One billion Chinese for example. ^_^

It sure isn't to just be doing a bunch of camel jockeys a great big favor. Especially since they never asked for it and want the US to leave. What else is there over there of value, sand? Yeah, that sweet light crude isn't called black gold for nothing. Obviously the Iraqi on the street isn't getting any of the profits, they can't even keep a referigerator going with 3 hours of electricity a day. I really think the US is trying to starve them to death, besides keeping the civil war going. And where are the troops hiding out? Look at the pictures of the daily bombings, you never see US troops helping. It's really sad. The US should be making friends with them if they want to actually help. Why isn't the US building solar cell factories and electric car factories and employing them? That's something the US could be proud of. Instead it's a billion $ a week bloody quagmire based on lies.

considering that if this war was about oil we would not be paying nearly 3 dollars a gallon, gas prices are high because the ISLAMIC arab nations are controling the price of oil to try and get us out of the middle east, if this war was about oil we would leave and get lower oil. we are fighting this war for the people of iraq, so they can share in the same freedoms that too many americans take for granted. you want to know what this war is about, talk to a soldier, not a reporter.

We were invaded by terrorists. Did you already forget 911? The war is a pre emptive strike. With Saddam behind bars and bin Laden on the run for his life, the world is getting safer. But the war on terrorism goes on. Its not an oil issue.

you're lacking one enormous key ingredient right here, we do no longer have a fashion to get loose power. we may have ate up an significant volume of the earth's oil reserves lengthy earlier we will be completely self sufficient of fossil fuels. timber are a renewable source, plastic isn't - they're a more effective eco-friendly determination for construction. we can replant more effective timber - maximum folk of the timber you take advantage of for issues at present changed into planted pretty for use. it is compared to we go out searching for brand new forests to ruin. we can ultimately use each and every of the oil.

Yes, bush and Chaney have allot of stock invested in OIL. When my cousin joined the army his first letter was about how they were going to call the mission Operation Iraqi Liberation, funny how they changed Liberation to freedom do to the acronym spelling oil.
