Is an excellent idea. Years ago, people like bigger cars, now a days, Yaris, Aveo, Versa, Mini Cooper, Fit, sell very well and they are compact, safe and low in emissions. With the prices of the gas getting up by the minute. They should bring Diesel engines like VW is doing very well solo.
It will not be impossible to met the pollution controls in Canada with simple engineering tune ups.
Any way they are better option from cheap and ugly Korean cars or Chinese cars.
Common sense, Europe build safer cars and better gas mileage than anybody.
The euro Focus could be sold via Mercury nameplate, to keep a difference with our old Focus.
GM Should bring the Corsa, Meriva, Astra, Zafira, Vectra, Signum, Speedster, they will bust their sales.
If the standard for safety is the Yukon or the Escalade, we are fried.
Some Australian car are good, but the same problem, V8 engines should be banned, soon.

As the guy said, most can't meet the safety and emmisions requirements of the US and Canada (as Canada usually takes US federal emmisions as their own emissions standard these days)

Moat of the cars look stylish but like the KA would never sell.. Ford had the Aspire about 10 years ago that did extremely poor in sales due to it's size... North americans like roomy cars with gas milage...

Why would you want the Focus european edition? Other than the stylish skirts (which Ford could put on here) it's mainly Diesle powered in the UK

Actually, Ford of Australia has some great ideas..better than europe and more in line with north american likings

Ford builds & sells vehicles globally. And by FORD I mean all of it's affiliates as well ( ie; Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, LandRover, & AstonMartin)
The styles, needs, sizes, requirements of each country are different.
When the Ford Focus 1st came to the U.S., it had been sold in 17 countries prior. Ford didn't think that the 5 door hatchback body style would appeal to Americans. It was vastly popular in the U.K., but it took 2 model years for Ford to bring that body style to the U.S.
They were right. Of the 5 body styles available in the Focus , the 5 door is the least popular. But still, it is offered & it still sells. Just not as well as the others.
I've also seen a QuadCab Diesel Ranger sold in the U.K. & Thailand that I think I could sell here. But I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon.

oops I forgot to mention Jaguar = Ford too

go to www.ford.com & check out the global sites
