I have already asked this question but I was'nt giving enough details to what I was asking

Every time you stand up to turn the channel, you bend your back a little to press the buttons. After standing and bending on a regular basis do you think it will cause a bad back in the future? Also every time you glance at the television to find what your looking for, being so close do you think it can also damage to your vision/eye sight.

Well, for those of us w/poor eyesight, remote controls are a godsend. I can't see to find the power button, much less the channel/volume up/down buttons. For exercise, my dog gets me off my keister to take him out.

i dont think so. cumulatively getting up to change the channel would be no worse for you than getting out of bed each morning in terms of damage to your back. and looking at the tv at close range for a few seconds is hardly going to do any damage. so no, getting up to change the channel is fine. and as was answered in the last iteration of this question, the exercise will do you good - most likely more good than the bad of getting up etc.

by the way, you'd make a brilliant tv remote salesperson...... eg. "eliminate the *harmful* effects of standing and walking *all* the way to the tv with this cheap, easy-to-use 'remote'"..... :)

Many people did it for years before remote controls were invented. I never heard of a TV channel changing injury or syndrome. If one already had some back problems it could aggravate it.
Loose your remote?
