I am curious as to why some people think it is okay for people to be in this country illegally?

I have yet to see a strong argument that is pro-amnesty. Does the definition of illegal not mean anything! I do believe a guest worker program is a good idea. But no one should just get to be here for free-- I know too many people that worked so hard to earn their citizenship.

Yes, illegal immigration has always been here just not in the masses it is now. The numbers have multplied to the point the USA can no longer allow illegal people to remain here. We have laws and they are to be abided by and enforced. Our country was bulit by immigrants who came here before there were laws on immigration and when laws were passed immigrants were screened through Ellis Island. Those immigrants worked and made this country what it is today. They voted, made changes, passed laws and one of those laws was the law on immigration. It is against the law for people to enter the USA without proper documentation. There is no logical or legal justification for people to be in the USA illegally. The word "illegal" has a definition some people tend to want to ignore.

I think they should have to pay all back taxes with interest, refund the stolen victim's id with interest, give 2000 hours community service, and pay a $1,000,000 fine for themselves and anyone else they want to bring over.

The guest worker program is a TERRIBLE idea. That is the begining of the end of American soverignty and citizen rights in ways you haven't figured out yet.

Preach it sister. I too know many immigrants who are trying to get citizenship legally. I get tired of the responses of illegals do jobs Americans will not. They are worried about produce picking and porcelain cleanliness. Why can't they just do it themselves? Come here legally and welcome to America. If you come here illegally, go to the back of the line, I will gladly pay the increase for my produce.
