I actually don't think there is a difference. Evertime time they pee, they are marking territory

When your dog is marking territory he will only leave a small amount of urine and put it as high as he can on the tree or what ever he is marking on. He will just squirt and move on.
If he has to go he will leave a large amount of urine.
