Well I made a black velvet (for the Champagne component I prefer brut in general) and that turned out pretty well -- tastes good and has visual interest with the separate layers. When you think about it, the combination of Champagne and stout makes sense. True Champagne has a bready/yeasty/toasty flavor that complements the barley origins of stout pretty well.
(I also recommend you just take the time to make your own Black and Tan with a real stout and a real ale, rather than buying Yuengling's version -- that's not a real black and tan.)
A mint julep is dandy too. But there's always next week ......
