Simply put, a lack of intelligence.
They cannot find the words to express themselves properly, whether it be anger, disgust, happiness, elation, etc.

Smart people don't use profane language.

And the rude ones, haven't realized that they isolate and humiliate themselves on an exponential scale. To which is undeniably irreversible.

I can't say that this is a sign of lack of intelligence, though it would appear so and in fact I often feel that people who are rude are ignorant. The reality is that they are not rude or ignorant, though their actions seem to be both. They are really egoist in the supreme sense. Whether it is the rudeness that you see in answers here or people cutting in line at the grocery store...it all comes down to the ego. It is their belief that they are separate from everyone else on earth, that they have to be better and get more. The reality is that you are no more than the least of the people in your community and if you are using your ego to move through out the community, you are nothing. Well you are something you are pitiful.

When you walk the earth with compassion, kindness and civility you are treating the least of those among us as though they were the most and are rewarded (even if others don't see it, the rewards come through greater sense of self.)

There are a lot of rude people but I do not believe it is a lack of intelligence. It could be a lack of learned manners. Teaching has to begin at home. In todays society everything is rushed and is fast paced. It is possible that they are having a bad day and said or did the wrong thing or that it was misconstrued. When people are rude or I take it as they are being rude I act kind to them in return. Sometimes people can learn by example and once in awhile I even get an "I'm sorry....I did not mean it like that." We all have bad days!

I don't think it has anything to do with lack of intelligence. I think it has a lot to do with a lack of social skills. It seems to me that people just don't personally interact with each other anymore. It's all done with computers, cell phones and blackberries and whatever other devices that make life more convenient. A lot of people use their computers to pay bills, do their banking, shopping and communicating via email and instant messaging. Most kids today don't go to the library to do research for school work, they do it on the computer. When they want to talk to their friends, they don't go to the friend's house, they chat on the computer or send text messages with the cell phone. Manners and social skills are being destroyed by convenience.

I'm pretty sure most people using yahoo answers are lacking strongly in intelligence. At least that is what I've gathered from the extreme stupidity and abrasiveness of most of the questions and answers...

It's not a lack of intelligence, it's a lack of respect for others.

yes, there are more rude people around...it isn't anyone's imagination. rudeness has nothing to do with intelligence, but has everything to do with a lack of etiquette, morals, ethics, and manners. additionally, this has nothing to do with race or culture.

People were never as rude as they are now when I was younger(I'm 27). People will say and do stuff that I would NEVER say or do. But I was raised properly.
