You know, I've been giving this a lot of thought lately. I've never worshipped God on the Sabbath, because I was raised in a non-denominational church that worshipped on Sunday. Now I am an adult and have chosen a different non-denominational church that I am not willing to leave, because I love it and the people in it. But I have decided - just today, actually - that I will do my best to keep the Sabbath. It will be rather difficult, because I will still attend my church on Sunday, but I will use Sunday to get my Saturday chores done, and will try not to do any work on Saturday. I will try to devote more time on Saturday to reading the Bible and worshipping the Lord. The thing is, how on earth does one NOT WORK on any given day? I understand not going to a workplace - for many that is easy. But the Bible said:
Deuteronomy 5:14-15
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ***, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
OK... does that mean that I shouldn't even cook or clean up after my little kids when they make a mess at breakfast, lunch, and dinner? What about dishes? Leave them? I guess I could. But all I have to do is load them in the dishwasher. What about if my child is sick and pukes? I'm not supposed to clean that up? That's work. Where do I draw the line? I don't mean to be impertinent, but these are real issues that I have. Do you have any ideas?

Which Sabbath, of two? There is the Sabbath "made for man", of which Son of man is "Lord also" of the Sabbath, kinda making it a black Sabbath. There is one Sabbath of God, called the seventh day, in which God rested after God ended blessed and sanctified.
Passover week of the crucifixion had two Sabbaths, one in the midst called a "high" holy day, one at "the end" of the week considered higher, holier. Pst: "mind not high things": Rom 12.
James 1 mentions my religion: pure religion. It notably arrives undefiled and remains unspotted in it's come and go visitation.
Revelation presumes to occur on a Sabbath, notable by seven benedictions (blessed...) therein, which only occured on the Sabbath; For other days 18 were spoken by priest within and people without the temple.
Some folk think work is prohibited on weekly Sabbaths, but JC said he and his Father work "hitherto the Sabbath", indicating it's an ongoing 24/7 work of grace and truth to get you all to the end.
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I'm a Reform Jew. I go to services Friday night and Saturday morning, Torah study Saturday morning, and sometimes a service when the sun goes down on Saturday.
Sunday is the 1st day of the week. It is not the sabbath, but is the day for Christian services because Jesus arose on Sunday.
Shalom

First, The sabbath is tied to creation, and the creator, if you took that command out you would have NO idea what person that bible is about. Six days shalt thou labor but THE SEVENTH DAY is the sabbath of the Lord, no where does it say anything about sunday as a day of worship, neither does it say to transfur the holyness from the seventh day to the first, that is a tridition handed down by the papcy, that is the catholic church not saying anything bad about anyones beliefs, the sabbath IS from Sundown friday til sundown Sat. in Gen. 1 it says evening and morning was the first day, and so on til the seventh. Not only is the first day 24 hours but that is how God counts as a day. free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com talk to me wgr88@yahoo.com visit a Seventh day Adventist Church in your area you would be welcome, God bless

I am a Christian.
I "do the Sabbath". In compliance with the fourth commandment, I rest on Saturday, and I am grateful to God for arranging my life that I may have Saturday to be a day of rest. I do no unecessary work on Saturday, nor do I ask anyone else to do any work on my behalf, nor do I pay anyone to do any work. I sit around in my nightgown and watch movies with my grandkids, and eat leftovers or pop something into the microwave.
Then, on Sunday, I go and have fellowship with other Christians, while we study, sing, worship, and pray together. It's great.
Worship? Oh...well, I only worship God on days that end in "y"....

perhaps your basically speaking to the incorrect human beings. I examine your post and thought nicely, i think you and that i'm non secular, different human beings will act in any different case, as to why any a form of particular human beings felt that way, any answer published right here would be speculative at suitable. For the checklist i became baptized a catholic as a toddler, by no capacity extremely went to church or lived in a fashion that confirmed i assumed in God. For the subsequent 30 years I did what ever i wanted every time i wanted till at around age 30 i began out to be a splash extra inquisitive approximately God. My component is basically considering the fact which you sense this form now could be no assure which you often will. I by no capacity in my wildest objectives imagined i might grow to be considered one of Jehovah's witnesses yet right here i'm. the very fact you do no longer have confidence in God isn't uncommon, many do no longer, yet i individually desire you don''t continually sense that way because of the fact i've got lived on the two aspects of the fence, i understand what its desire to have God on your existence and that i understand what its desire to no longer have Him. relatively i might by no capacity flow back to the different component of the fence, the section without God, yet it extremely is basically me.
