There are many way's to contact soldiers and many organizations that like to send letters to the troops overseas. I do know that the troops do enjoy reading the letters. My dad just returned from Iraq in January and had a huge box filled with letters written to him by pen-pals.

I am not in Iraq any more, but I had some good pen pals while I was there and it would have been fun to have someone I could IM with. Our computers weren't good enough, but I emailed my wife.
