They both are really f'in evil, but which is more evil? Or are they subsets of the same mental illness? Or should we take the easy way out and lump them into an axis of evil?

Frame of reference: the United States, i dont know what "republicans" are like in other countries.

Bob_Bobson...on mental illness...they have clinical definitions for practically every type of behavior. The cult-like dynamics of religion are much more pathological than many so-called sicknesses.

And I never preached tolerance. I'm very intolerant (as you noted).

These days, they're not very different: They're both authoritarian and inclined to look upon dissent as treachery or blasphemy. This has always been the nature of the Christian Church, but it's a relatively new trend for the GOP and I, for one, hope they ditch it soon and return to the genuine conservatism they once stood for.

On christians: Evil? that's a strong word. Come now, do you honestly believe that 85% of the U.S. is evil? Just because someone has a different belief system, no matter how silly it may be, doesn't make them evil. I think you're afraid of christians, afraid you might become one.

Republicans: There's a difference in being evil and being greedy. It's all about money with republicans. But that doesn't make them evil, persay. With only these choices, I'd go with Republicans.

On mental illness: that's just silly. People are raised with beliefs and they try their best to uphold them. It's called tradition. People like you preach tolerance, yet look at what you just said. That's about as intolerant as it gets. Not saying that christians and republicans aren't intolerant to an extent, just pointing you're a hypocrite. Have a nice day.

Well, aren't you sweet?

My guess is that I am answering a person who has not yet felt the glory of Jesus in her heart. Too bad, but when you do it will be so spectacular. This I pray for you. God loves you without you having to love Him back. Someday you will and look back on this day with shame...but don't, it's very common when you don't know how good life can be without Him.
As for being a Republican, I won't judge or stereotype, but I just can't afford to be a Republican. (not that I would want to restrict freedoms any more than they are)

Evil? Not Christians, we are lovers instead.

Now Republicans, I read about so many bad ones out there..but there are a couple of good ones that I have met.

Best idea is not to prejudge or put all people in the same class. You'd be surprised at who you might meet if you have an open heart!

I was under the impression that all Republicans are Christians.
George Bush refers to God at least ten times during any given speech, always including "us, the God fearing people of America and the United States of America"
Don't break your head over their "evilness"
To call an entire nation God fearing is absurd - a number of other religions are being practiced in the USA -
CONCLUSION: the only thing that can be said with certainty is that all republicans are Christians (according to George)
I Do not know about evil but
PRESUMPTUOUS definitely

You cannot base what happens in the United States on the whole Christian body. For that matter, whose to say that the United States is truly Christian considering people are always trying to pass laws to remove God or pass same sex marriages when both are against God. True Christians are not always the people that you see or hear about in everyday news although they may claim to be Christian. True Christians follow Christ and are not guided by their own agendas in an attempt to fill their pockets. True Christians are not evil. As for the Republicans, in God eyes, we are all equal, there aren't any Big I's or small You's. God does not care if you are Republican or not. You can be Republican and Christian...Many people are and they are not evil...Nice stereotype...(and you call us evil)

If you really knew a Christian then you would know that you are asking us to compare apples and squash - a true Christian is not evil at all, but quite the contrary as when one has Christ within them and they are living as though Christ is the center of their focus, they are so grieved by any evil action or deed that they are quick to make amends - Christ separated himself from the politics as it was so contrary to what he was and did not want the association to be linked to him. It hasn't changed. Christianity is not a mental illness - it is a relationship.

Politicians on the other hand, be they Republican, Democrat, Independent, etc., they have a hodge-podge of people who are good, bad, evil, mentally ill, physically ill, socially unacceptable, etc.

And then there are those like you, who have obviously been misled in some form or fashion as to the GREAT distinction between true Christianity and politics.

Let's Phrase It This Way,
Christian=Complety Nice Not Evil
Republican=Doesnt Qualify For Anything But A Political Party.

Intolerance noted.
I'm a Christian. I'm not a Republican.

I guess, if you think Jesus is evil, then that would make His followers evil too. But, before you decide that He is evil, maybe you ought to get to know Him. You won't ever get to do that by looking to see what fault you can find in His followers, though. You'd have to look past them to the LEADER Himself.

Meantime, I'd stay away from Republicans. Those people scare me.

I've seem some equally "evil" things going on with liberals and atheists. The only difference is that they have the advantage of saying, "Well we never said we were good!" But that doesn't give you the right to call Christians and Republicans evil.

The Republicans in France kill babies and bathe in their blood. Sick, I know, but what can you do when they are all the way over there in France. I like to think of Republicans and Christians kinda like the special ED kids in school. They went to class and did the work, but still believed that the Ninja Turtles were real. A whole subset of people who refuse to question, just follow the teacher and don't talk out of turn. Unless it is in tongues.

It is good to be both. Christians can forgive the selfish liberal morons that run their mouths before engaging their brains. Maybe you should look up the definition of evil. You will see that you probably are closer to it than most Christians. There are both good and evil Republicans.
