Thank you for caring so much. Here you go...
You have a dog so I take it she's 1+ years old. Why is she peeing on the floor? After she plays, eats, and sleeps you should get her outside immediately. Put her on a collar and leash so she knows why she is going out, this way you can keep her with you and make sure she goes. Be sure also that you are walking her at least 30 minutes a day. Dogs in the wild run in packs; she's not able to do this. You are her "pack", so you being the dominant pack leader for her, need to take her on a walk. Again everyday. No, size does not matter, all dogs need to walk. This may also help with the peeing. We need to know why the peeing is happening. Is she peeing when excited. If so, this is a very submissive dog, and you may have to put a collar and leash on her, and have her sit quietly so as not to get over-excited. To do this again, you'll have to repeat it maybe alot of times before she understands, but she will understand after awhile. Just work with her. Another thing you can do is, put her leash and collar on her. Keep her with you all day while you're home. This way you will know what she is doing, and where she is. Trust me on this one; I've done it. I would say maybe at first every 15 minutes or so, take her outside to go potty. You can even use a cutesy word like 'potty'. She'll hear that word evenutally and know what's going on. Well actually, she'll hear your voice and know; dogs don't speak English, German etc. Ok, after the first couple of times, then try stretching it out to about 20-30 minutes between each session, and gradually increase the time before you take her out next. This will take patients, but I see you really care for the dog, so I wish you the best of luck, and thank you again for caring so much.

When does she pee? Is it when she is excited to see you or is it when she needs to go out? Please also realize that animals go through a lot at a shelter and it takes time and patience for them to settle in. It may take awhile. If you got a new job would you be able to know everything about the job the first day? Of course not. Don't give up on her, she is not giving up on you. Tell your Dad that too. If she is peeing because she is excited, that is submissive urination. When they are young they cannot control it but usually outgrow it. Mine did. If that is what she is doing, ignore her when she is excited to see you until she calms down and it will end. Otherwise, maybe she is still nervous and getting the hang of things. Make sure you take her out immediately after eating and as often as you can. When she goes where you want her to, praise her (lots and lots!) and even give her a treat. She will catch on very quickly. If not, don't allow her in the rooms where she pees and if she pees, clean it up thoroughly so she doesn't smell it next time and pee there again. Dogs are creatures of habit. Good luck and thank-you for adopting from a shelter. There are many awesome animals there that end up there through no fault of their own.

The only thing u could do is teach your dog not to pee on the floor or make a little shelter 4 her at the porch or somthing and dont let her inside be responsipal in front of your parent i know what you feel so if she does leave just remember that she will find a new family that will have a better home for her so good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What airsoft said will work. Dont punish the bad behaviour too much or you will just unsettle the dog. The trick is to encourage good behavior.
You can also put newpaper or something similar on the floor, they soon learn to go on this. then day by day move the paper towards the door to your backyard.
Eventually he will go to the backdoor when he needs a pee, take the paper away and make sure you take him outside.
Always make sure you fuss him when he pees outside when you take him for a walk

It is hard to tell you what the problem could be, if it pees on the floor a little.
First thing to is to call your vet and make sure it isnt a UTI, then you can talk to them about your problem.
You need to find out the source of the problem before you pick a solution,..... there could be many based on your dogs behavior and age.
submissive urination, excitement urination, marking the territory.. or just plain old lack of house training. You need to speak to a trainer, they will ask you questions to resolve the problem.

Put a little bell on a ribbon, tied to your door knob. when you take her out, jingle the bell first..when you catch her peeing, jingle the bell and take her out..in about 14 times, she will begin to ring the bell to go outside....all of the above answers, telling you to praise her for peeing outside are correct..don't punish, or make a big fuss when she does it inside, but praise LOTS when she goes outside.
Hopefully, your dad will see how hard you are working at it, and will allow you to keep her..Be sure to clean up the spots every time, so there are no stains or ruined rugs.

Well sounds like you just need to teach her where to go. This is not a something the dog will learn in one day. You need to crate train here are some notes for puppies but will work for older dogs to. PottyTraining
House training can be one of the most stressful periods for you in your dogs life. A lot of times it becomes difficult because of small mistakes owners make that they are not aware of. Here are some tips in helping you house train and remember you can‘t expect a fully house trained dog until 6 months of age.
1.Have a crate that your puppy is just able to stand up, turn around and lie down in. Any bigger your puppy will sleep in one end and use the bathroom in the other.
2. Feed your puppy on a schedule, not free feed. Water should be left out until ½ hour before bed.
3. A puppy will have to urinate more then an older dog. Most likely the puppy will have to go after waking up from a sleep, after eating or drinking anything, and after any play time.
4. Younger puppies normally can not hold themselves through a whole night. The saying is a puppy can hold themselves for the hours equalling there age and then add a month. Example a 2 month old puppy can go three hours.
5. Find a place or spot you want your dog to go. (place in yard, paper or pad.)
6. There are sprays you can buy and spray on the spot you want your puppy to go. The smell in these products are only noticeable to your dog and will encourage dog to go in this spot.
7. After all play, eating or just waking up, take your puppy to this spot and use the command you want to use like “bathroom”. Wait, when s/he goes praise and reward.
8. If you catch your puppy going in the wrong spot, startle him/her with a loud noise like clapping your hands or a noise maker. This will cause the pup to stop for the moment, quickly take puppy to the right place and wait for pup to finish. Praise and reward.
9. If you caught or find a accident don’t reprimand the dog, just clean up the mess when puppy isn’t looking. If you yell or get mad the pup will not pick up the idea they went in the wrong place but will become afraid of going to the bathroom in front of you.
10. When cleaning up an accident, its advised to use a special cleaning product for pets urine that takes away the smell. If you don’t your pup will keep coming back to the same spot. Normal carpet or floor cleaners don’t take away the smell for the dog.
11.Keep the crate in a place where you can hear him/her wake at night. Bring puppy to bathroom spot then back to bed. (Don’t talk to much or you will have a puppy who thinks it play time)
12. For the first while stand with your puppy at the designated spot until he or she goes (not in the house.)
13. Watch your pup for signs s/he has to go like circling and a lot of sniffing in one area.
14. You can also teach your dog to ring a bell when, s/he wants out by placing a cat bell at the door where your pup can reach. Push your pups nose into the bell and let out. When ever your dog pushes the bell, even in play let him/her out. They will catch on!

maybe trying the dog training pads. you can get them at Wal-mart, or any pet store. It really helped my dog's puppies to learn to pee outside. You have to put it down and keep moving it closer and closer to the door each time they use it and finally put it outside or at least that's how i did it. Hope this helps and good luck with the dog
