i've heard of putting a penny in your mouth, and taking a bite of an orange. tonight, my friend and i have a breatholizer at the house, so we are drink and try all the test, mythbusters style. i will also try swishing my mouth with rubbing alchohol and stuff like that. any tips?

Mythbusters did an episode on it and found that none of ways, including a penny work.[1]
However, Mouthwash does work in a reverse way. If you swish your mouth with it BAC will be SO HIGH that the cop might think that the device is broken.
But really all the cop will do is drive you to a precinct and take a blood test -- and there is no cheating that.

Nope, the only thing to do is wait. Time is the only cure.
Do not put rubbing alcohol in your mouth as it is poison. Besides BAC machines test for all three types of alcohol, methyl, isopropyl, and ethyl the only one we can drink in limited amounts. It will all read as positive anyway.
The thing people don't realize is that the alcohol has gone from your stomach to your blood to your lungs before you can blow and test positive. Once the alcohol is in your blood it is too late for something to take it out.
Any competent tester will notice something in your mouth and invalidate the test.
Just be sure to have a designated driver for the ride home.

No, breathalyzers work by what's in your lungs, not what's in your mouth. You cannot cheat a breathalyzer!

I don't think there is a way apart from not drinking. But while you guys are at it...try testing this other urban myth. Can mouthwash make you blow a false positive because it contains so much alcohol?

Mythbusters did a whole show on this, why don't you just watch that to see that nothing suggested worked to "beat" the test.
The only trick is to not drink irresponsibly in the first place.

look hon are you some kind of idiot. let say you find a way to cheat it and go driving off and slam in to the back of one of those small cars which just happens to be carrying a small child in the back and pregnant mom driving in the front, don't forget you've cheated breathalyzer test, child in the back dies on the spot and lady in front loses her baby on the way to the hospital, dad has some back injuries, and you lucky guy get away with minor bruises. do a little dance, and pat yourself on the back. you've now become a idiotic cheating murderer. all the best

why would you want to cheat a breathalyzer test? it's a measure put in place for your safety, and more importantly the safety of other innocent people who did not know you would be slamming your car into them while driving drunk.

I heard that if you bite your lip hard enough for blood to come out that it would screw the machine. dats what i heard
