You may be able to lead people on art tours some of those not very high paying jobs are in exotoc locals It is always better to do something you love Trust that your ability and enthusiasm will get you a job and that the job and activities you love will enable you to travel. when a person is really doing what they love security will follow no amount of security can make up for being in the wrong job.

Well, if its your passion, you have to go for it. I was thinking bio at one time, but I changed to Human Development (which is more of a Bio, Sociology, Psych, Anthro multi discipline). I love it. Im in grad school right now for Child Development. As for travelling, you can start by thinking small. Go on small trips first. See all of the things that are near you. And go on a budget. Stay at hostels or cheap motels. Its more fun that way anyway. As you gradually accumulate more savings, you can think bigger. But never give up a major that you are passionate about... its just not worth it. Hey, the average person lives over 75 years... you'll have PLENTY of time to go to different places. :)

Make the most of your passion. Your current field can allow you to travel. You may try looking for overseas posting related to your line. Yours is not a very common field, quite specialised actually. So there bound to be some place that needs your type of people. Just cast you r net wider and see what come up. There is still chance for you to work and travel atthe same time.

By choosing an arts degree instead of medicine, you have cut your future earning capacity... ok.
So what you need to do then, is to also train to do something other than study/ teach history. It will mean a lot of hard work, but is clearly the only way.
Or you could become a stripper. Pays well. I wouldn't advise it as a career path though.

Interesting--I was thinking airline industry even before I read what the first guy suggested...or you could work on a cruise ship.
Who says you have to go back to a field you hated? Talk to a career counselor about other options that are related to your passion. Maybe you could become a professor that writes books and leads tour groups to exotic locales. Good luck!

Being happy with your job is much more important than having money. It's a lot better to love what you do for a living and not be able to go on quite the vacations you would want, than to hate what you do and pin all your happiness in life on those few times you can get away from it.

You can still travel, but you might have to restrict yourself to what you can afford financially.
The most important thing to remember is that money is not important. Do something you enjoy, otherwise you will wind up going to work being grumpy and complaining all the time.
You can still travel, just do it within reason, or perhaps you could find a job in your field where you do travel.
I hope this helps you find your way.

combine what you love with a few useful classes in entrepreneurship and come up with a good idea for your own business or museum - it's the best way to make money anyway
