Mental health issues can impact a couples relationship in many ways, for example as a partner to a rape survivor sexual relations can become almost non-existent, or can cause the partner to feel as if a normal loving act has the same effect as an attack no matter how gentle and loving you try to be. Mental health issues can lead to resentment, lack of trust, constant fear of the what might happen. Mental health issues all carry their own problems and every couple is different. Being aware of a problem from the beginning is better than finding out after you have a lot of time and feelings vested in the relationship. Specific mental issues carry their own specific problems and can have different impacts so without specifics there isn't any way to say for sure.

I would say if the couple was not aware of the others mental health issues it could impact the relationship alot. IF the mental health issues are being addressed and both are working at the relationship it will impact the relationship but not as much I wouldn't think if one was not aware of it.

Quite a bit. I am a gay man, but I was married from 1999-2002. I suffer from ETOH abuse and depression. I am also gay, so that sealed the deal. But I had so many issues which were not dealt with, I should never have gotten married. But that was part of my illness - I was in denial, and thought if I married a girl, everything would be fine and dandy.
Everyone's situation is unique, but lack of emotional wellness can definitely impact a relationship.

alot. this may be the cause of some of the divorces out there theese days. for me, i've got some mental issues and so does my fiance, but, we learned how to deal with each other when we get a little crazy. that's all ya gotta do. unless you're someone that just thinks a crazy person should be locked away, then just step away from the relationship. AWAY I SAY!

Are you dating/married to someone with mental health issues? Not enough info given to offer any kind of thoughtful answer. All I can say it that serious mental problems will destroy a relationship--seek professional help. Don't try to go it alone. Both of you will lose.

alot, depends on how much they are willing to put up with. if they truly love you or u truly love them, one of u guys will stick around no matter what. but the one with the issues may give the other one issues or you may push each other away. can affect sex and happiness together.
