To fix the yellow spots go to the home depot and get a bag of lime and put it down just before it rains. This adjusts the pH of the spot and the grass will come back green again.
Then go to Pet Smart, Petco or any pet store in your area and get her lawn biscuits. They contain an ingredient that is non-harmful and changes the pH level of her urine if you give her at least 4 a day. I give them to my female puppy and I don't get yellow spots now.

I don't know, do you care? If you do and you want to fix your lawn, you'll have to ask at the Home Depot about it because I'm not a gardener.
What I can tell you is that you can prevent it from happening again by going to your local petstore and purchasing an additive that you can put in your dog's water that will reduce the ammonia in your dog's urine, which is what's causing your lawn to yellow and die. The additive is harmless to your pet.

my stepmom told me that putting a little bit of baking soda in the dogs water neutralizes the acid in the urine. I got a 7yr old female dog about a week ago and I have been putting baking soda in her water and have not had a problem with yellow spots, as for getting the grass green again you just water and water and water and water the spots.

Hose the area where she's urinated immediately after she goes. There is nothing you can give her to stop the grass from turning brown. Only diluting the urine with water will save the lawn.

Spray the area with water after the puppy goes. She has high nitrogen content in her urine and is "overfertilizing" your grass. Just water it. Those spots will grow taller then.

Not sure if it will help......Drs. Smith and Foster's (pet catalogue)makes a diet supplement called Lawn Guard that is supposed to help with the grass burn problem.

The easiest and cheapest thing that actually works, is Vitamin C. Plus, it's great for your dog! I'm not sure what size dog she is, so I can't give you a dose. My dog is 58 lbs. and he gets 500 mg. once a day. Call your vet for a dose, unless your dog is around that weight, then you can give her 500 mg.

Not much you can do. It's the acid in the urine killing the grass.
