for one you are super fertile so do be careful and use protection. Depending if you had a c-section or natural delievery . You need to let your body heal. Did you know it takes 6 weeks for your uterus to get back to normal size. Your body has taken a beaten things have been streached and pulled . you can not see the inside but you can also be bruised.
Ok also your cervix is still open if you are still bleeding so this makes you more vulnerable for infection Trust me the last thing you want right now.
So most females do not wait the 6 weeks so when you decide not to . the doctor can put you on birth control pills. Wear a condom and clean up and pee after sex to try and reduce infection.

I have never heard of women being "super fertile" immediately after giving birth. As a matter of fact, if the woman is exclusively breastfeeding then she is as well protected as if she were using a condom.

In the first six weeks you are probably exhausted, bleeding, may have stitches that need to heal and generally sore in the pelvic region. You need time to heal.

Well, first of all you don't need to wait 6 wks, it is not engraved in stone. It is just an estimate doctors give you. Your body needs time to heal. Chances are you might have stitches. Your body just squeezed something the size of a loaf of bread out of something the size of a walnut. LOL Sizes vary folks. hahaha Anyhow, it needs to shrink back to its normal size before you will enjoy it anyway. It might only take you 4 weeks, who knows. Bottom line, you don't want to get an infection or any other problems while trying to care for a newborn. It will go by fast.

to give your body time to heal. if you have sex before your body is ready you'll regret it. think of how far your vagina has to stretch to let a baby out- either a rip, tear, or episiotomy is gonna happen. i had an episiotomy with my son, but with my daughter i ripped. she's 11 weeks and i still haven't. you don't want to have sex before 6 weeks seriously. not unless u have a c-section and he wears a condom and stuff. you're 10 times more likely to get pregnant after you have a baby.

Your body needs time to get back in the groove of things. My doc told me that it takes a full year for all of your organs to move back into their original spots after giving birth. It takes everyone a different amount of time to heal so I would just wait until you think you are ready and take it easy.

It hurts. Your are swollen, bleeding, and tired. Plus the is great risk of infection because everything hasn't completely healed and you are most likely to get pregnant again

Because after a vaginal delivery you are all torn up down there and sexual intercourse will not only hurt but can cause infections.
