I have lost about 55 pounds since March of this year. I've noticed that my hair is falling out...a lot! What can I do to prevent this? I've been taking a multi-vitamin. Other than that, I don't know what to do. Do you think it will grow back? Am I undernourished?

no, I'm not on low carb, didn't have a baby. I was 220 pounds and I'm down to 165 now. People say I lost it too fast, but all I've been doing is swimming, walking, and eating less. I drink lots of green tea and take one a day weight smart vitamin. I don't know if I'd rather be fat or bald, though.

Everyone loses between 40 & 120 strands a day, depending on how much hair you have, your age & your hair's growth cycle. People with fine hair tend to have more of it & therefore will lose more of it than their thicker-haired sisters & brothers. Your hair also thins as you get older, particularly after menopause for women, but the thinning will stop & not continue as it will for men.
Here are some factors to take into consideration for common hairloss:
1. Seasonality. You'll lose the most hair in the fall -- typically November and December when hair reaches maturity in its growth cycle.
2. Diet. Hair loss can occur through poor dieting, tight ponytails, even with age.
3. Pregnancy Some women experience hair loss with pregnancy or as part of post-pregnancy hormonal changes. Other women experience hair loss when going on or off (usually off) the birth control pill.
4. Illness Sometimes it happens as a result of illness. Even stress, excessive weight loss, iron deficiency & thyroid problems can cause hair loss.
If you're really worried, ask your doctor. I hope that this helps~

The hair is not just a part of your body and it is a symbol of beauty, status and health. It is important for you to take proper care of your health in order to prevent early hair loss. Learn here https://bitly.im/aMJmp It is not a very serious problem and with a little bit of caution you will be able to prevent further hair loss. There are certain uncontrollable factors like pregnancy conditions or certain illness or genetic factors that will result in hair loss. But, this does not mean that you cannot do something about your hair loss.

Did you have a baby not long ago? Women go through a hair losing process about three months after having a baby.

Are you by any chance getting the depo short for birth control? I found this is a major reason women are losing their hair. It does grow back if this is the case but you must get the depo out of your system.

Are you on a no carb/low carb low fat diet?
if so, our bodies need carbs and fats, and hair falling out could be a sign of not enough nutrients...
