Nah , it is working great . It must be ur computer . Try reinstalling ur windows or changing ur hard drive .
There seems 2 be a new viruse called "I DON'T BOTHER MYSELF TO READ WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN ASKING ABOUT FOR THE LAST HOUR"

everyone is facing that problem,
everything is wrong about yahoo! messenger right now, no ones messenger is working, so don't bang your head on your computer screen in frustration! :)

i've always had problems with yahoo messenger, dat's y i deleted it a yr ago. they don'even have the personal chat rooms anymore.
