I love one girl a lot: beyond any words that can describe it. I knew her for about 3 years; but since I’m very shy and she’s not at all shy, we hardly ever spoke (if we did, they were just short conversations). She once liked me: she told me so, but I was a loser and didn’t have the “guts”to give her a sign that I liked her. I have not communicated with her for about a year-and-a-half. And more than anything else in the world, I want her to be my girlfriend. Please tell me how I can possibly do that. If I should email her something, what would it be? Should the email be long or short? But I'm afraid what if she won't answer it?

Thanks for your help.

I forgot to mention that I care a tremendous amount about how I would appear in the eyes of other people. So I don't want her to think in a bad way "oh no, he's trying to hook up with me!?"

You should just give her a call... nothing major... you don't have to have some in depth heart to heart conversation.. just call and say hey, I was thinking about you and decided to call and see how you have been. Let that start the ball rolling... see how receptive she is to you and if she seems like she is warming up to you, then just simply suggest getting together over the weekend or something.. don't rush in to things... take your time. I think most of us tend to want it all too fast most of the time... and we lose alot of the smaller moments because of this. Be your self and relax when you call her... don't make more out of it than there is.. or you will end up getting tongue tied and not enjoy getting to talk to this lovely girl whom you confess to love...lol I wish you all the best in the world, I truly do. Just remember... if there is chemistry there it will just naturally happen... Peace.

I would e-mail her a short e-mail just to see "what's up", tell her a thing or two of what you've been up to, and ask her some question about the stuff she's into. If she replies, you may be able to tell how interested she is in continuing the conversation. E-mail her back, reply to the things she wrote, engage her in more conversation. Maybe in the 3rd e-mail suggest to meet for lunch or a movie, and take it from there. Don't be afraid to ask her out; if she says no, at least you'll know she's not interested/not available, and you'll be able to get on with your life and start looking for someone else. But you do have to be pro-active if you want a shot at dating her, don't just sit there and do nothing.

You have to gather your guts and contact her. She may be attached to some one else now. The only way to find out is to get in touch with her. Do not bring out the matter that you want to rekindle the relationship immediately.

Ask her how she is doing all these while. Slowly get to know her and let her reveal if she is still available. If she is, then tell her how you feel about her. She may accept you and she may not. One and a half years could have changed her feelings. You will never know unless you ask her. DO NOT BE SHY. Do it.

Good luck.
