This is the best question asked here. (I think this is #32 or something.. :>)

The scripture says, "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"

Note this is probably the only place in the entire Bible where a direct Aramaic quote is used. Why? Most of the crowd spoke Hebrew or Greek. Who understood Aramaic? The priests. Jesus was speaking to the priests and the priests knew it.

Having memorized it, they knew immediately that it's a reference to Psalm 22: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Verse 6 says, "But I am a worm...."
What's up with that?

The Greek lexicon for the word is Towla.
Check out the word “Towla”…

the worm "coccus ilicis" ++++ When the female of the scarlet worm species was ready to give birth to her young, she would attach her body to the trunk of a tree, fixing herself so firmly and permanently that she would never leave again. The eggs deposited beneath her body were thus protected until the larvae were hatched and able to enter their own life cycle. As the mother died, the crimson fluid stained her body and the surrounding wood. From the dead bodies of such female scarlet worms, the commercial scarlet dyes of antiquity were extracted. What a picture this gives of Christ, dying on the tree, shedding His precious blood that He might "bring many sons unto glory" (Heb. 2:

#1 READ the 22nd Psalm.
#2 At that point, Jesus had taken upon Himself ALL the sins of humanity - past, present, and future - and the Father had to interrupt His relationship with His only begotten Son on our behalf. THAT moment was the loneliest moment a man will ever feel. Theirs was a perfect relationship in all aspects - something we, as fallen human beings, have and never will experience. When we're perfected, we'll never have to experience that pain because Jesus took all the wrath and neglect our Father chose to have Jesus experience in our place. "It is Done..."

Regarding your final question of going to heaven...? Matthew 25 tells us that not all who go to heaven will be believers in Jesus. Jesus Himself addresses those who helped "even the least of my brethren" to "Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world..." Hope to see you there...!

Jesus while on the cross was feeling the separation and outpouring of the Father's wrath because He was made sin for us, while of course not absolving the hypostatic union of course and not sinning himself, but that Jesus was saying the 22 psalm, but did not finish. Meaning if you read through that psalm it starts out in despair, but culminates in victory and praise of God not despair. So Jesus was expressing the pain He was feeling, but ultimately that psalm fits perfectly because the sorrow of the Cross led to the victory over sin and hell for all that repent and believe.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Jesus Christ had the sins of the world in his body so taht when he dies, they die with him, God cannot look upon sin so therefore he had to forsake his son and turn. Jesus knew the father had to turn from him as the the sins of the world were placed on his shoulders. Jesus christ flesh was condemned as a sinner however his spirtual side, his godly being was undefiled, those words were spoken from his flesh, as if he was merely a man dieing on the cross for his sins, because those are the words a man would say. Dont know if u can understand that because its kind of hard to on the computer, but hopefully you can work out wat im trying to say

You know that always bothered me too until I read the 22nd Psalm. Jesus, being extremely versed in the Hebrew Scriptures recalled David's plea from God. But I think it was more than that. He was giving us one last proof of His identity.

If you read the Psalm it describes Jesus' crucifixion in great detail. A prayer that was penned by David thousands of years before describing his descendant, the promised Messiah, and predicting his manner of death.

Do you think sounds right?

God did turn his back on him for that short time. God can't look on sin. So, yes, Jesus was scared, but his love was greater than his fear. He went through torture, abandonment and Hell so no one else had to. After Jesus was dead for three days, he came back to life, conquering death. So if you choose to join Christ, you won't die, not really. Your sin has been hidden. Sure you do bad things, but you're acquitted. Jesus took all your punishment on himself so you wouldn't have to take it.

This also brings up the question of why Jesus is referring to the Father as "My God" when Jesus is supposedly God himself.

He did know it was going to happen. But imagine being in his position, experiencing the weight of mankind's sin, and the knowledge that he was about to be separated from God...

God turned away from him at the moment he took all sin unto himself. God is unable to look upon sin.
