I started penicillin yesterday, and they are still as swollen today, I know with strep they start working pretty quick but I've never taken it for just swollen tonsils. Can anybody tell me when I'll see a difference?

Definitely by tommorow you should see a difference. If not, call your doctor back.

If its viral then antibiotics won't take care of it at all. Or if you have been overly perescribed antibiotics then you might have developed a tolerance. Give it 3 more day before talking with your doctor again

Within 24 to 72 hrs. If not call your Dr. you may need a stronger antibiotic. Ouch!! Sore throats suck!! Hope you feel better soon!
