brew your tea. add your sugar/lemon while hot to mix the sugar then put in the fridge. Chill at least over night as letting your tea (sit) is best. It is best to use at least a day or more old tea so it has time to brew. Then pour over ice. DO NOT MAKE SUN TEA as it is very dangerous and will grow/harbour bacterias that can cause serious damage or illness to a person. While it seems like a good idea it is medically UNSAFE. You are actually aiding the bacteria in a warm environment (HOT / SUN) and growing nasties.

Choose your favorite tea flavor. It can be anything; peach tea is exceptional but all teas vary with each brand. Lipton tea is an easy place to start.

Boil 2 cups water. Using a beverage pitcher. Immerse 4 tea bags (or more) and let steep no more than 10 minutes. Add ice and ice water to make entire pitcher of iced tea.

Lemon and sugar optional!

Now, an easy to come home to tea is something called "sun tea". Find a large clear glass jar, put the tea bags in it, close the lid and let it sit outside in the sun. In a few hours you will have sun tea. Dilute to taste and serve with ice and lemon.

The best I have ever had is the way it is made at the restaurant at the Four Seasons here in San Francisco.

Some people brew tea extra strong, maybe double strength, because then it dilutes when you put ice in it. If you make the tea normal strength, after it is iced it is too watery. But the problem with making it extra strong is that it kills the good tea flavor and easily becomes very bitter from over-brewing.

The Four Seasons solution: they make beautiful big ice cubes out of regular strength brewed tea. Then they brew tea at normal strength and refrigerate it well. They serve at table side by filling a tall glass with the tea ice cubes, then pouring cold tea over it. Their tea tastes like tea... never watery, never bitter. And they serve with a simple syrup on the side to sweeten if you like.

I like to use a good quality Earl Grey tea for both the ice cubes and the tea and serve with a sprig of mint when I do this at home. Try it... you will never want regular iced tea again.

I assume you mean brewed ice tea? Get something like Lipton tea bags. Depending on how strong you want it you put some tea bags in a pan of water and boil it(these instructions should be on the box). Let it cool and then pour it over ice cubes. Or you can make sun tea, Sun tea is so good. You put some tea bags, maybe about 4 in a clear glass or plastic jar, and set it out in the sun until it's how strong you like it. Take out the bags and refridgerate it.

Purchase a good quality box of tea bags - I use Tetley - to make a gallon pitcher full take 4 family sized bags and place in a microwave safe bowl. Cover tea bags completely with COLD water (this really makes a difference) Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Remove from microwave and allow to sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile add 2 1/4 cups sugar to a 1 gallon pitcher (you will probably want to experiment over time to find your "sweetness factor" or, you do not have to add sugar at all. Drain tea water into pitcher squeeze tea bags to get all the flavor of the tea. Add cold water as needed to fill pitcher. Stir well and place in refrigerator, allow to become cold. I like for mine to sit at least 2-3 hours, but in a pince we drink it sooner than that. Some people let the tea get cold and drink it without ice, but my family and myself love to pour it into a glassful of ice and enjoy. Yum Yum Yum this is the drink of choice for most southerners.

Good luck!

I boil a BIG. pot of water. When it boils, take it off the burner, and put it to the side. Add about 12 of those family size tea bags. Then, you let it "steep". That means ,walk away ,leave it alone for about an hour , til it gets to room temp. Take the tea bags out. This is like a tea concentrate. Add water to your liking. Add sugar to your liking, The key is that it's FRESH.Pour it over a big glass of ice, and enjoy!
