Don't tell me because of Saddam since the N Korean gov is just as hostile to the US. Also I know that N Korea is being pressured stop their tests. I wanna know why there is such a different response to both countries when N Korea could be much more dangerous than Iraq was.

You asked why Iraq and not North Korea here are the reasons
why the U.S. is being very careful:

The North Korean Army is huge 1.3-1.2 million troops that's
the fourth largest army in the World

China

Any invasion of North Korea means immediate war with China
who would not only defend the north but they would invade Taiwan that's 4 separate wars that would stretch the U.S. armed forces like a rubber band

Casualties:

Do you have any idea of the casualties in a war with the North
China would be?

Nuclear War:

The North has stated it would use nuclear weapons if it was
attacked .

I think we just want to fight the easy war. Would you pick on the frail, scrawny kid, or would you pick on the big, muscular bully? Which one do you think you can get a nice photo op saying mission success for use in your re-election? We already fought Iraq with success before, so it seemed reasonable to assume that success would be easy if we did it again.

Politicians are great at looking like they're busy, but never really coming up with lasting solutions. After all, real solutions would negate the need to have such a large and costly government in the first place.

contrary to the ignorant masses response, it was NOT oil, if it was oil we would not be paying the gas prices we are paying. the reason we did not go into n. korea is because since the korean conflict we have not had any major problems from them. however we have had many many problems from iraq during the last 15 years, and saddam hussein was a sick enough individual to actually try to attack the u.s. with nukes, n. korea is testing nukes and missiles, but they haven't made any real threats against the u.s.

I think President Bush just flipped a coin and if it was heads go to Iraq and tails North Korea. Guess on which side the coin landed.

Apparently the Bush haters on this board want a "REALLY BIG" war. If we invaded N. Korea, we would be at war with China because of their current treaties. Read a book, learn some history or something! Idiots!

Can't do everything at once and since it was Arabs who attacked us on 9/11, the threat of WMD's were more real and imminent than the whacko Kim Il Jung.

Exactly, why? The whole thing stank since inception, and although the US government continues to lie to its people and the world, most of us see through the facade.
