I have had discussions with a devout Christian--one I would even call a fundamentalist--and he has told me he believes that in order to get into heaven, one must be in Christ (i.e. they must have accepted Jesus Christ into their lives as their own personal savior).

However, this provides a dilemma. How could a child not be let into heaven if he/she was too young to understand the concept of religion and recognize the existence of God? Furthermore, how could that child have logically chosen Christianity as the "true religion" if his/her brain was not yet capable of such thinking? The same is true for secluded tribes of peoples who have never heard of Jesus Christ or his religion. How could a person from such a tribe be denied entrance into heaven if he/she was never given the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ? And if they aren't allowed into heaven, are they sent to hell? Simply because they lived in the wrong place (i.e. a place that prevented them from being introduced to Christ)?

It appears that some fundamentalist Christians believe this to be true. I, however, do not. Logically, it doesn't make any sense for an all-powerful God to create these people's souls in the first place if he knows they will never even have the opportunity to accept him into their lives and he will have to send them to hell for it. To believe that is to believe that God creates souls for the express purpose of sending them to hell. So the bottom line to your question is: do you believe that God's intentions are good, or that they are bad? Deciding what you believe on that matter will give you the answer you're looking for.

That is a very good question.
Out of all the three great monotheistic religions (christians, jews, muslims)....WE muslims are the only ones who believe, these people are not doomed.
For those who havent received the message, on the day of Judgment, God will give them a small test or so i heard from a Hadith, but please check it out....if this person passes the test, then he or she will enter heaven.

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

The poor come into heaven not on account of their poverty but because
of their life. Everyone's life follows him, whether he be rich or poor.
There is no peculiar mercy for one in preference to another;{1} he that has
lived well is received, while he that has not lived well is rejected.

If God were to put limitations on who could get into this "Heaven," based on who read his book, regardless of they're ability to read it, or even understand it for that matter, It would be no place worth going to.

According to the Bible the only way through heaven is through Christ Jesus, but i believe if people who never had a chance to hear the gossiple are damned forever, so i dunno I guess that's just something we will have to find out when we die.
