I have a classmate that has a rash or fungus on his hands. He popped the blisters and now his skin is white. He's had it for 3 weeks now and I haven't the nerve to ask. But now it is pis_ing me off that he won't come around with gloves or something to show he's paying attention to it. It looks so bad that one part I saw looks to be drying white flakes and swelling. Could this be contagious?

You should visit the school nurse and anonymously tell her about your classmate. Tell her that you are afraid that his rash is contagious and ask her to check it out. That's the school's responsibility. It could be herpes--because herpes can spread to any part of the body, not just the private area or mouth.

It sounds like a fungus, not much different than the average foot fungus. It could be contagious. I don't know if your in college or not. If you are in grade school or high school you could talk to the school nurse and then she in turn would call the student in and check it out. If your in college, talk to the instructor or see if they have a nurse on campus. I know that I would not want to sit in his seat or touch things he has been touching without knowing if its contagious... sounds gross

don't know how old you are to know what type of school you go to or if it is a boarding school. but if you are still in middle or high school, i can guarantee that their parents have seen it and taken them to the doc.
