It's lint that's beaten off from the clothes as they're tumbled in the dryer... that's one reason why clothes wear out faster than drying on a clothes line outside!

It's called lint. It is all the little loose threads and fibers from the cloth that the things are made from. Clothes dried on a clothes line last longer but are not as soft and fluffy when dried.....

it comes from the lint monsters, remember the commercial with the green one footed monsters that stole the socks from the dryer and thats why you always come out with an odd number of socks, well, there little puffy lint monsters too

Its all the lint created when the clothes are drying and getting tossed around, from fabrics such as cotton and wool. These fabrics easily break when exposed to heat after being wet.

It's mostly made of loose fibers that come off of your clothes in the dryer. Also, things like hair can stay on the clothes even after washing and come off in the dryer.

The lint is dust from cloth.

That is funny! Well, the fibers break down and that is where it comes from. If you save it all you could use it as batting for a blanket to make it soft and cushy! Just a thought!

from the clothes themselves...particulate fibers that emanate as result of dryer heat and motion
