If you are just using the burner to save your data any burning software will work. I am not sure what your plans are for your new burner but if you use nero it has a wizard that let's you select your project step by step and is very easy.

ugh ok next imt eplease tell us likeur so and dvd burner type ok ur dvd bunrer should of come witha gey cable maybe a ide cablle thast like red ok ur supposed to open ur pc and on one of the bays under cd burner put in in then u screw it on then plug ion the ide acable coming from the cd bunrer and swith the jumper in the bac to sl then plug in the power cable that plugs in to the cd burner to and the ide cable next then the sound card cable and u then turn on ur pc then boot up then windows shpuld detect it no sofwtare needed then to burn dvds or cds u need burnng software or nero or roxio wmp comes with a built in cd burner
