It is not just the boys anymore. My 6 year old daughter is just as fearless as any of her male cousins. Stretching the limit is part of being who they are. It sure is scare being a parent watching it however.

It is what defines them as MEN and not WOMEN. I think it is amazing that my husband IS so daring and adventerous, and almost fearless. I think that it is hard (as a mom) to watch your boys try to be just like that. Sometimes it is best to step back and let them be bold and daring as long as it is somewhat safe. My brother and his friends jumped off of our roof which was probably 10-15ft high. My mom didn't know at the time but when she found out she was pretty upset.
Let them define who they are and not be sissy boys who can't touch a fly with out fainting. : ) I want my boys to be rough and tough like my husband!

Because us boys likes to have more fun than sitting around watching TV and the feel of Adrenalin rush is better than sitting around and that makes us do better things than drugs. Also because boys needs to show their friends that we are not afraid of $hit and our masculinity is the whole thing about being a man.

this is in the parenting category so ill assume that u are asking about male children. its part of the learning and growing process for male children to act and mimic the behavior of adult male role models. From an evolutionary stand point, its adventageous for a young male to be "wired" to act in a manner that will increase his chances of survival in his enviroment...... there for, male children run around, explore, learn about their limitations, act agressive, and seek out what every they instinctually consider vital to their adaptation to their enviroment.

Testosterone makes us guys do stupid things, which sometimes turn out pretty cool and based on those few times we get reinforcement to do more stupid things.
