Id asy go with the Bazooka Mono-Channel Amplifier (ELA5001)

BAZ ELA5001
• 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms
• Mono-channel

• Low pass filter
• RCA connections

It would match up to the box well. note this amp would only be used for the subs and not hooked up to anything else mid's or high's. the box is 450 RMS this Amp produces 700 watt peek so 350 RMS. Meening after you install it you adjust you amp to half the max power and this will let the amp operate at a proper range without burning up ond or causing destortion. You will GET SOME THUMP out if this combo.

NOTE this is a mono amp (ONE CHANNEL) you would wire the + speeker wire to one speeker then run a wire form that speekers -speeker connection to the other speekers +speeker connection then finish up connecting that speekers -speeker connection to the amp's - speeker connection. This will drop the impedance of the speekers and operate in sequence also.

Install it right with large gage wire to power it and for the speeker wires. make sure you properly ground it and have a fuse in the positive wire near the battery. This will keep your ride from burning up. and having good power to produce some LOW BASS. Good Luck.

If your mind is made up on the Jensen enclosure, any amplifier with an RMS output of 100 watts or more will be sufficient. Bandpass enclosures are designed to work on minimal power and, a lot of people aren't aware, you don't HAVE to have a crossover. The design of the enclosure actually only permits the subwoofers to play a specific range of frequencies - hence the title 'bandpass'. If the amplifier you choose has a built in crossover (which most do anyways) you can still utilize it.

casaudiotc is right, to a point. Some bandpasses still need a subsonic filter of some kind to prevent unloading (excursion).

What I've found to help with this is a 4th order Linkwitz-Riley Highpass filter. You can't buy these, they are made and I just happen to have the plans to make one. The trick is, at what frequency do you need it to block ultra low frequencies?

The schematic for the highpass filter, and it's power supply using a 555 timer, can be found at the bottom of this site:

It is currently configured for 33 Hz, but I can easily give the component values for any frequency, if known.

Any amp that is rated 400x1 RMS or 200x2 RMS will be perfect.
