I've been bugging my mom over and over again to stop. And ever time, she says, "I'm trying,". I've emailed her information but, she won't listen.

I've tried telling her that i love her and don't want to see her die. she sounds serious about quitting now. Maybe i should send her to the cancer ward but, My mom is a very emotional person and I'm not sure if she'd be able to handle it.

I am not from a family of smokers, but my friend had the same problem with her sister and this is how she handled it. however she did live with her. When her sister had a new pack of ciggs she would open them and with a cotton swab spread white vinegar on the Butt of the cigg. when lit my goodness it was awful. she would through it away and try another, then another and this continued. The sister then switched to another brand, do the same thing, she will repeat. The cost and the after taste of the ciggs are not worth it. so she will then go to the gum ot the patch. It worked like a charm. It was on Paul Harvey Good Day.

Just a second, lighting a cigar.. there!
How can you get your mother to stop smoking? You can't get anyone to do anything they don't want to do, no matter how much you love them.
Enjoy your mother! Have a friendship with her, be friends, and hope that she takes better care of herself. Remind her that you wish she would stop smoking, but don't make a big deal out of it! She has chosen. Bad or good, it is her choice. Just love and enjoy your mother!

Get a lot of your Mom's friends over, and maybe some of yours. Have them all talk to her about the dangers and how they love her and don't want to see her get hurt. That when she hurts herself, she's hurting them. That ought to make her try even harder.

Tell her if she loves you she will quit. So that she will be around to see you have a family.

She may need to get sick and then want to stop. You bugging her to stop will not do it.

You can't. She will either quit, or die sooner than needed.
