Some say it was the reed sea, others the red sea. yet it, like certain scientific theories that are taught as fact, therefore teaching dogma. It is a lack of respect for other belief systems. One should say that "Moses (according to the Bible) parted the Red Sea. " Christianity is all over the discovery channell. When does anyone disprove scientific dogma about the Native American presence in the America's? That we didn't come over on the land bridge. Does anyone out there know that lie was designed as an excuse for the taking of this land? What about stories of our Avatars? Or African Legends or cosmology! Does every American know out there in this grand country that when you sing "...land of the free..." There are Americans whose belief systems in one God are illegal? You worry about the US becoming a fascist state under Bush, but we Indians live in them already. They're called resevations. We can't sell or buy land without BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) permission.

The Silver Dragon above has got it right.

Don't worry about what Christians are telling you, the cosmology of indigenous people is equally ,if not more, valid.

It's understandable that the injustices done to N.A. people have caused many hardships, but many have it in their thoughts that opportunities should be open for you also

The final tale on the parting of the crimson sea grow to be printed to be the reed sea, massive distinction! The Egyptians tried to persist with the Isralies around the tidal marsh, the tide got here back earlier the the Egyptians made the crossing, they slowed down and drowned. The tide could have been held back by using stable winds and then got here in a tidal bore quite a few feet severe. I observed this take place in Alaska in chefs Inlet, frightening

Religions were created primarly to answer people's questions about natural phenomenons and other things they couldn't reasonably explain to themselves. Later, they were misused in order to control the naive masses. Pagan beliefs are probably more sincere and in touch with nature than monotheistic religions, and therefore less corrupted, but who am I to judge. I believe the Red sea was never parted because it's simply impossible. If Moses could do it, why can noone today?! If I were you, I wouldn't pay much attention to it, religion is the greatest lie in the history of humanity and why would one feel bad because of one stupid lie? Follow your own personal beliefs and don't bother about what the majority thinks.

You know what? If you wanna know the Bible and the Torah are not the only books that talk about Moses parting the Red Sea. The Quran also says it. And I quote: We sent them the prophet Musa (Moses) who parted the sea for them, and caused it to fall back on the Egyptians.

You are referring to the article that was on the Yahoo home page about how the Red Sea may divide again because of tectonic plate activity and it's going to happen without Moses.

I'm sure it was meant as a tongue in cheek reference, not meant to offend anyone.

I do not know what yahoo says, but the bible says the Red Sea was parted by God . Moses was only an observer, along with a million other witnesses.

Your beliefs should be just as welcome here as anyone's.

Christianity is belief in one God. I haven't been arrested yet for believing in one God. Check out my website. It is all about Jesus Christ being Jehovah God in a visible body. I think you are speaking of trinitarians who believe that God is three persons who they call one which is really polytheism. Christianity needs reform in this and the reformer's name is Swedenborg, one of the servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.
