there's nothing to interpret

2006-07-22 11:10:59 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

It translates to thou shalt not murder. Murder being killing out of rage, or even hate. Jesus also teaches that to hate a man, is to murder a man. I would interpret it to mean "Do not have outstanding negative felings towards a person without forgiving the person." Jesus is all about forgivness.

God bless.

I think it's "thou shalt not murder" not kill because a war I think is different then some one just getting mad or is crazy or something like that, and going around and murdering someone, random or not.

I suppose it originally meant, thou shalt not kill or muder another human being.

But wait....wait if you do it in the act of self defense? What if you do it in the act of saving another person's life from murder? What if you do it as a soldier, who is fighting to protect freedom and security for his country? What if you are an executioner who kills murderers? What if you kill someone who has raped your wife, daughter or mother?

Hmmmm.... Ya gotta love those 10 commandments.

Exactly as it says. Thou shalt not kill.

Kill means to extinguish the life and hence cause the death of a living organism.

Does not apply to animals and plants, as far as biblically, BECAUSE in Genesis, God gave Adam dominion over them all, to be used for food and the like.

Though shall not hurt- emtionally or physically- any person.

Though shall not kill- animals don't count- because God is definitly not a vegetarian, because he would not except the grain sacrifice from Cain, but took the meet from Able.

That mean you should never kill anyone without a perfectly good reason. Then you do the "God Forgive Me" dance and it's ok.

Right?

Thou shalt not kill means you shall not kill obviously DUH! It means you have no right to take away another person's life cause that is a sin.

I interpret that as that I shouldn't take another life unless God or one of His holy prophets tells me differently.

The commandment properly translates to "" THOU SHALL NOT MURDER!""

A big big difference.
