Sad to say that gas should not fall in this area, yet when there in less of something the price goes up.

Yet for the gas, it is the risk of damage to pipelines, threats of shutdowns by foreign providers, and/or consumption increases by China and The United States of America.

I like the ideal of Willie Nelson, Morgan Freeman, and other celebrities thinking outside of the box. The use of cooking oils into a source of energy. We must support them.

Grenada, Miss. – Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) announces the grand opening of its first company owned truck stop in the Mississippi town located about 90 miles south of Memphis and 90 miles north of Jackson, Miss.

The March 24 opening represents the first “BioWillie” branded biodiesel product available in the area, and features the fuel as its exclusive diesel product. The company is one of the few producers of the popular alternative fuel in the state, with a plant in Meridian.

The opening of this truck stop marks the first in a series of events that the company is holding over the next few weeks.

On April 2, the company plans to open a new 10 million gallon biodiesel plant in Durant Okla., which includes a benefit concert with Willie Nelson. The next day marks the first major oil company bringing distribution infrastructure to the industry as Earth Biofuels officially opens its distribution center at a Shell Oil Company terminal in Dallas. “This is an exciting time for the biodiesel industry, and even more exciting for Earth Biofuels as we lead the way. A new plant, a first ever distribution center at Shell, and the first Earth Biofuels truck stop right here in Grenada. It’s great”, stated Tommy Johnson, founder of Earth Biofuels and the director of business development.

A prominent member of the board of this Jackson-based company is popular Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman, a native of the area. “A great number of us in the entertainment industry feel strongly about the development of alternative fuels. I am happy to see our company moving forward by offering biodiesel in North Central Mississippi”. In attendance will be another prominent member of the board, Clarksdale attorney Bill Luckett. “It’s good to see our company is working hard to continue our development in Mississippi and elsewhere. I hope every trucker running on I-55 pulls in and tries our product”.

Biodiesel is made from oil-seed crops such as soybean and canola. Biodiesel can also be produced from animal fats and recycled cooking greases. Little or no modifications to conventional engines are needed to utilize these fuels. Conventional diesel blended with biodiesel has increased lubricity. Biodiesel also decreases the emission of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter. Biodiesel also replaces the exhaust odor of petroleum diesel with the smell of popcorn or French fries when used as a pure fuel.

Biofuels, such as biodiesel, provide a great opportunity to: 1) reduce the United States’ dependence on foreign oil; 2) reduce the amount of pollution emitted into the atmosphere; and 3) revitalize the farm and rural economies.

US consumers still do not pay the same high gas prices that people in other countries do. That gap is getting smaller and we are now starting to see what everyone else has been paying for years. Our gas is subsidized from the US government and has been for years. In Europe, they pay on average $5 a gallon, except they pay by the liter, and they pay 1.67 (in Euros, at $1.20 to the Euro) per liter. roughly 4 liters to the gallon... makes for $4.80 a gallon.

What do you think is going to happen when the world's oil supply gets low and the price of gas really goes up? When the Middle East runs out of oil. Countries like the US that are not developing all the oil fields that we can, will still have oil.

As far as going to War? The US Military has been at War in one way shape form or fashion since January 17th, 1991. The beginning of the first Gulf War.

Um...we've been in war since 2002.

And gas prices are high because 1) Stupid Americans drive highly inefficient vehicles, raising the demand; 2) We're at war with Iraq, Afghanistan, and will soon be having bigger problems with Iran; 3) People don't understand that the supply is running out and that we need to put pressure on the oil companies, or else invest more money into alternative fuels.

gas is so high because the people that make gas are greedy. They had a reason to raise prices during the hurricane, even thoe I never had to wait for gas, but the prices never came down. Exxon had the largest profit in the world (11 billion) in 4 months during the hurricanes last year. That was the most any company ever did in one quarter. They like it, so they kept the price that way. They know we need it still,
Diesel fuel is only cycled once but regular gas is cycled twice. Diesel fuel is really getting the mark up. Most truck and car that run diesel are for company's so they make money off their trucks, they have no choice but to purchase it.
If everybody stop buying fuel the price would go down.
But they know we can not do that for long. I do not know if there is anything we can do about it.

Gas is so high because the price of oil is so high.

Not so long ago, the price of oil was $32 a barrel. Now it is twice that.

The reason isn't the President. It's China.

China has undertaken an incredible modernization program. They are importing more oil, building supplies, etc. than ever before.

Oil, like anything else, is subject to the laws of supply and demand. The demand is higher, therefore the price is higher.

Even if everyone in the Middle East were to lay down their arms, oil would not drop all that significantly.

president bush has NOTHING to do with the gas prices, only ignorant people who just want to bash the president because they think it makes them look cool think so. the REAL reason gas is so high is because of OPEC. OPEC is an organization of the oil production nations, the majority of which happen to be TA DA, muslim nations, they think that by forcing the prices of oil up like they are, they can crush the U.S. economically. after the political pressure that the public used during the vietnam conflict worked to get the u.s. out of that conflict (and in the process making every soldier who lost their lives meaningless since we actually were winning). they feel that with high gas prices people will criticize the president, blame him for the gas prices, blame the war for gas prices and demand we pull out. which if we pull out the terrorists win, and every life lost was lost for nothing....finish what you start.

Supply is low as China's demand is growing at a geometric rate.

As far as war, we are in a war. Perhaps it will be widened, and perhaps it is necessary. The good must rid the world of madmen ever so often. And I'm afraid that the cycle has come full circle.

Because the U.S. would rather use Hadji oil, which is stupid. We have a fine state named Alaska. Alaska has so much damn oil up there we would have enough gas/oil for 60 years. We are not going to be around that long, so why not use our own stuff? We do not need towel head oil.

If you blame bush then your probably right. Thats basically the reason for war. Also, renewable energy is at a hight cost, so for companies who produce fuel are now having to invest further in renewable fuels, ie wind & wave powered, which is at a higher cost
