Take him to the vet. Any change in bathrooming can mean he is sick. Better to be safe than sorry, especially with an older pet. Their health is more fragile than that of a younger dog.
It could be that he has developed a sensitive stomach in his old age. It happens to people too. After the vet rules out illness, they can recommend a special food for him. Should fix him right up.
Good luck.

Take it to the vet. They may be able to give you something to stop it. The dog is already up in age, and he may have something else wrong with him. Only a vet can give you an actual diagnosis....no one here!!!

Take him to your vet and don't listen to all the idiotic home remedies that you'll get on here. Only your vet knows best.

Your pet is getting old . . . and this happens. Sorry :-(

Go to the vet, and maybe try putting him on a less rich diet?
