garlic - you can use garlic pawder (not salt) on their bodies and / or mix a bit in their food. If I dont use too much, my cats will eat soft food with some fresh pressed garlic in it

My two month old kittens recently had fleas. My vet gave me frontline spray..not the drops..they are too young for the drops. The spray is about 30.00 for a bottle, but it lasts for a long time because you use about 1-2 sprays/pound of weight and the kittens don't even weigh 2 pounds! You spray one spray on the front and 1 on the back/but not the face. It doesn't have to cover the whole body because it will spread. And then you put it on 1xmonth during flea season. They also do not recommend flea baths for kittens this young. Just spray..but you also need to treat your house..anywhere they sleep, frequent because the fleas will lay eggs and multiply.
Good luck!

If you don't want to use any chemicals at all, you can use a flea comb. Get two containers of warm water--one soapy, and one clear. Comb the kitten, dip the flea comb in the soapy water, then dip the comb in the clear water. Repeat until you don't comb out any more fleas. You can tell flea droppings from dirt because they turn red when wet (they're blood.)
You can use a gentle kitten shampoo or maybe a flea powder, but don't use a flea collar.

You can use Advantage on a kitten 8 weeks and older so. In the mean time I would go for flea powder, place the kitten on a towel, powder him up, spread it around, them wrap the towel around him with his head sticking out, and keep him like that for a minute or two. OR You can use an old fashion method, a flea comb, dropping the fleas in a cup of alcohol as you comb them out...no chemicals involved in this.

There is actually shampoo that is made for kittens you can get it at your vets or local feed store. You'll probably have to also kill the fleas and eggs that are in your home now as well if you really want to be flea free.

I read up on this. It says fleas don't like water and a bath with soap and water actually kill them off.
I am still going to get some of those drops for cats that go between the shoulder and protect them but an immediate thing is a bath.

Your kitten is old enough to have a flea bath. You can get flea shampoo in your local grocery store, pet store, etc. Also, you can use flea powder. Just be careful not to let him inhale it.
Good luck with your kittie.

buy a flea shampoo, and give him a bath. he is young enough, and may actually like it. Just be sure to not get any of the shampoo in his eyes. then get some flea powder, and sprinkle it on carpets and any beds he may have gotten into, leave for a few hours to a day and vaccuum to get the fleas you missed.

Ask your vet what the best product would be to fit your budget and be healthy for your kitten. DO NOT buy the crap they sell in pet stores, these do not work very well and are more geared for adult cats and not safe for kittens under 6 months.
