No. My mother hardly ever cooked at home. She still doesn't cook much at all. Goes out to eat for almost every meal.
My dad did almost all the grocery shopping and cooking in our house. I especially remember his chili. Seemed like every time it rained, my dad would cook chili. Never understood the connection between the two. Guess what? I am the chef (notice I didn 't say cook) in our house. And guess what else? Sure enough, every time it rains I get hungry for chili and make a big pot of it. However, I have improved upon my dad's recipe. Sorry dad.
