I have an original oil painting of a tiger that I purchased several years ago while living in Germany for $2300. I recently have run into some financial woah and need to go about selling it. I called some local art studios but had no luck in finding aid on where to sell it. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice anyone could dish out! Thanks!

neither ebay nor craigslist will do you any good for $2000 for an unknown painter.
take pictures and email them to galleries including as much detail as you can find out about the painter.

You mean "woes" I am sure NOT "woah." I really don't think you are going to unload that thing unless it's by a famous (and dead) painter. f you have already checked with galleries and such, you might try to sell it on EBAY, but I doubt you will get anywhere NEAR what you paid for it. Why on earht would you pay that kind of money for the thing unless of course it was indeed by a famous painter, or was really worth the bucks! Youa re probably stuck with it.

Always E-bay but it's a pain if you don't have an account.I've done well with craigslist...it's free to post and usually local buyers with cash money. If you're trying to recoup your $2300.....good luck!

EBay is always a good place to start. Perhaps selling with a reserve could be your best option.

ebay.Just set a minimum that you'll take.I think there are collectors that look on there. You could also try craigslist.com.They have a section for collectors items, and I don't think it costs anything to post it on there,so it's worth a try.
