Although it might seem stupid, the companies have to do this to protect from people suing them if someone does eat the food and hurt themselves

That was the cat lobby. They want it all for themselves...:) CATS DON'T SHARE. Seriously, it's probably to avoid lawsuits from idiots who eat the stuff and then get sick. If it's labled "not for human consumption", the cat food company is protected. If not, a jury might actually award REAL MONEY to a human cat food consumer. BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

Cat food is made from meat "leftovers" that aren't always kept refrigerated or as germ free as human standards. They grind up all kinds of body parts, some of which your average, sane human wouldn't think of eating, plus it's not nutritionally balanced for a human.

Because it looks like a can of tuna and maybe somebody broke and desperate would buy it and eat it since it's cheap.
My cat can't eat wet food because it makes her sick--maybe it's not even fit for cat consumption.

Because some people do eat cat food and it's the companies way of covering their hides if someone was to get sick from eating it.

well it is to remind children to not eat it,. most of them eat it,... SOme stupid humans sometimes forget that they're eating pet foods,.. well at least when a person swallows one of it, the manufacturer of the product would not be held responsible on the hospital bills of the victim,...

All human food products are made in factories that conform to strict standards of sanitation, etc. Pet food manufacturers do not have to adhere to these standards.
