what speed should a cd be burned in order to be played on a car stereo that plays mp3 car stereo?

I have been trying to play ripped cdrw in my car stereo which says it plays mp3 but it will not read the cds. What am I doing wrong?

Hey Justin, first of all, if it does matter and if you know what I am talking about, they must be at 44,100 Hz because rarely MP3s can be at 48,000 Hz (or lower) and unfortunately if you leave at anything else, then your computer won't have a problem playing them, but a regular CD player will play them faster or slower or it will sound like as if you have slowed down a tape (like with vinyl records).

And if you want to change it, you have to use some sort of a fancy sound editing software and then resample the song at 44,100 Hz.

If you are talking about the speed of the burning process (like 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x) then that number doesn't really matter but if it is giving you a problem, then go slower. Look at the CD and read at speed can it be burned at. CD-RW need to be burned slower than regular CD-R usually.

But I don't think that is the problem.

Next, your car stereo probably cannot play CD-RW so try burning MP3s on a regular CD and then you should be fine.

If that doesn't work, then either the car stereo manufacturer is lying or the software you are using sucks.

If you can, get Nero. It is by far the best one out there. But it is not free and it costs $80.

are you making a 'data disk' with .mp3 files? That is what should play in a .mp3 player.

Try burning a CD-R. Some players won't play re-writables.

Speed has nothing to do with playing or not. Slower burn speeds are said to be more accurate.

it's not imortant on what speed, it's all you'r CD burn device you'r using.

however to play am mp3 CD on a car you should burn it with a software suppoting this option. use Nero 6 or 7 to do so

there is no longer some thing incorrect with issuing citations from digital monitoring. yet you already pay further taxes for making use of extra. gas taxes are meant to pay for infrastructure. Use extra gas, pay extra taxes.
