My daughter will be 9 next month and I am getting her a prepay phone. After that she will have to do chores and such to earn more minutes.I'm hoping this will teach her about responsibility.Maybe that's how you can convince your parents.Ask them for a prepay then you take care of the rest.

Yes, if you earn it. If you're assigned chores around the house, do them and do them well. If you're not, ask for work to buy a cell phone. Then tell them you'll use a prepay plan so that they don't have to worry about scary bill surprises. AND tell them, you'll earn your own cards too. If you've been responsible, I dont' see how they can turn you down.

maybe- you could offer to pay for it, or part of it. You'll have to prove you can be responsible, and not abuse it. That's the tough part. Why do you really want one anyway? You should think about that first. If it's just to feel cool, or be like everyone else, that's not a very good reason.

yes, tell them its for emergency only....they could add you to their plan for additional $9.99 on their bill (on most cellphone services) and its free mobile to mobile to anyone else who has the same service provider as you including your parents. So they can keep track on where you are at all times........wait how old are you?

yeah. i didn't even ask my mom for a cell. iw as gonna go get a prepaid 4 myself, b/c my freshman year in high school involved a lot of calling to get rides to and from places, but she beat me to it and got me one for my birthday.

Depends on how much disposable income they have. Of course, I won't even buy one for myself.

That would depend on your age and who will pay the bills.

Yes, especially if there is a real need for you to have one.
