I'm sorry but you're quite mistaken. This is an old myth.We in fact use many many times that. There is no way to know how much goes to conscious thought but the 10% thing is not true. This is based on very old medical thinking an a PET scan shows very different results.I'm not being a wise guy.I'm serious.I don't know where you would find such data but it's out there. It is true though that your mind behaves very much like a muscle in that if you stimulate it it becomes stronger and more efficient. But I think that you have a point in that people should open their minds and treat it as their most valuable possession.Cuz without it nothing matters

As several people have said before, this is untrue; people use 100% of their brains. This myth probably started as a misinterpretation of claims that people only use a certain percentage of their "mind." It seems to have continued for so long because of paranormalists claiming that the extra 90% is what lets people read minds or bend spoons or whatever.

People have a very good understanding of how the brain works and what different parts do. Although we don't yet know HOW certain parts work, we still generally know WHAT they do.

But that's all physical. The fact that certain people are too lazy or uninterested to fulfill their intellectual potential is undeniable.

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) shows that far more than 10% of the brain is active. Anybody with ten percent brain activity, for all intensive purposes, would be considered dead. Type urban legends into your web browser

we use 10% of our brains USUALY when we sleep we only use like 5%. i believe that in the 25th century, people will have learned to use at least 30% of our brains. This is posible, and not at all far fetched. but htink, if we could use 100% of are brains we might have esp..... or maybe we could get ESPN without stealing cable.

Did you know that was a myth? They've mapped out the brain, and pretty much everything does something.

That's not what that means! It means that at any given time, we only use 10%. All throughout our lives, we use all of it. I mean, why would we have all of that brain matter if we won't ever use it?

And what do you expect people to answer in "religion & spirtuality" category?

That only God uses 100% of His brain?

Try "biology" "psychology" "philosophy" categories instead...
