I have been there five times, but not very recently -- last time 1995. I had a great time every time, except when I got lost driving around Southampton. London is a fascinating, cosmopolitan City with lots of History. The old, authentic pubs are great -- you can drink where famous historical figures like Charles Dickens hung out. Also, lots of music of all different kinds -- I would get a "What;s On in London" guide and find something that sounded interesting and go. Also, the theater is great and a different experience than New York.

I have also traveled the countryside from London to Dorset and back and also from York to Glasgow via Edinburgh and the highland, and take train trips to Bath, and to Dover and Canterbury. I really enjoyed being in a 1000 city like York or Canterbury, and visit the historical sites Cathedrals ans Castles.

The English countryside and villages are beautiful.

Highlights -- St Pauls and the Tower of London, Dorset, Bath, Canterbury, Scottish Highlands, Hampton Court Palace, walking across Abbey Road and reading the Graffiti on the Wall...pubs,
ale.... North Yorkshire Moors, Pennines, York, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Scotch Distillery I could go on and on ..........

I've been - It's great. I stayed in London, Shropshire, and Cardiff Wales. The people are very friendly, there's tons of stuff to see. London has a great "big city feel" to it, like New York. The museums are great. I didn't see a lot of live music while I was there but I did go clubbing at night, the music was hot, and euro and fun.

Highlights: British Museum, Tower of London, Stroll along the Thames and some funky little club I can't remember the name of in Cardiff.

The low point - I know the english get a bad time about their cuisine, and I certainly don't want to contribute, there's lot's of good food in London, but the more "British" style food, especially breakfast, I didn't care for. I'm sure it's a case of what you grew up with, but I had a lot of curry and italian while there. Though give it all a try, you might love it. The fish and chips were good.

I've been to London. The music scene is excellent there. Pubs are a lot of fun. London is an excellent city to drink in. The tube is convenient and easy. I would recommend a trip to the coast. The cliffs of Dover are quite impressive. You could cross into France from there and see Calais and Normandy. Lille is a gem of a city and Paris is not far either. The metro there is excellent also. 2 things I want to see in Paris are Jim Morrison's grave and the Grand Marnier factory - i luv that stuff. Paris is an excellent city to eat in. Take me with you!

I have been there. I didn't really do the music scene but I did see a bunch of awsome stuff. Castles, crown jewels, flower festival, wax musium, food kind of sucks. I drove for a couple of days north of London and that was really pretty with tons of historical places to see. UK is cool but there are better places in Europe to go. If you like to party, see historical places and shop spain is awesome. Italy is probably my favorite place though.

its nice if you like the European architecture. I didnt care for the music much. Food is good, beer is great, everything is expensive. I would suggest Isle of Wight, London and Yorkshire. The best stuff is really in the small villages. Nice pubs, good food and people.
