Well, a guy should offer to pay, but you should at least be prepared to offer to go dutch (or if he pays for dinner, you buy him dessert or a drink later) since you asked him out.

thats easy - establish in advance. say "and I will pay this time and u can pay next time if we decide there is a next time, OK?" or say "and this time lets split the cost as we get to know each other, OK?" Or say "How about I pay this time for the meal and you can leave the tip and if we do it next time we can reverse it, okay?"

Usually it's whom ever asks is the one that pays. This is how my gf and I handled it when we first started going out, but now I will cover one and then she will cover the next one and so on.
