My wife say's it'll be bad for the pup's self-esteem. I say phooey, dog's don't have self-esteem. And I want to say, "Nobody loves me". She thinks I'm corny and nuts. Who's right?

Sorry sweetie, gotta go with your wife on this one. Even though the dog want understand the meaning of the name, it just doesn't sound right, Hey, why not name him" Everybody", then you can say, "Everybody loves me", sounds a lot better!, Good for your self esteem, too!......LOL

Dogs do have self-esteem. But their self-esteem doesn't depend on the name you give it.

Your joke is funny though--the first time. Would you still want to call your dog "Nobody", after you've told your joke to everyone you know?

Dog's do have a "self-esteem" of sorts, but what you choose to name him will have no effect at all on it as they can't understand english. I think it is kind of cute and funny!

I have a friend who named their dog d--o--g pronounced dee-o-gee now thats pretty orginial. It sounds pretty cool when you say in fast sounds like another language. But I could never call my dog nobody I think somebody would be better.

My 14 year old son wanted to name our Shepherd "Cat" or "kitty". It's not the name that is important, it's the love you have for your dog.

Go for it PAX. "Nobobdy loves me" is priceless. He will always be a conversation piece. Keep in mind not everybody has our sense of humor though. But as long as you can laugh about it it's alright.

Unless your dog has only a head, then it is actually anatomically inaccurate to call it "Nobody".

I prefer "Chris" or "Gary".
