AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic 7 (newest version)...
I'ts the best and it hasnt letten me down...
But ONE IMPORTANT thing you have to remember....
Almost any anti virus is GOOD as long as you regu;ary update it...
Because I update it every weak.. My CPU is virus free... believe me....
My step brother uses Avast Home edition 4.... something if I'm not wrong...
He even asked if I wanted to go with it... but I said anyting will do as long as i regulary update it...
For reference... dont use Norton AntiVirus,, because (after my step bro & my expirience) Norton does down to your sistym, wich is good, BUT relly makes ur CPU low speed...

This is probably the best free antivirus out there for Windows:
AVG Antivirus
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1
The interface isn't the greatest but it does quite a nice job of detecting and deleting/cleaning viruses and spyware.

www.majorgeeks.com has many free anti-virus programs, as well as 1000's of other free programs, all of their programs are tested first, to protect against ad-ware, mal-ware and viruses.
Its my favorite place to go to get different programs.
