Depending on the amount of fat you have on your body, and your age, you can live for as long as 2-6 weeks without any food at all, as long as you have enough water to drink. A human body would die if it didn't have any water in about 3 days, so it is more important to drink than to eat. If you are skinny, you would not live as long as a fatter person. The body will convert fat and muscle to calories if it can't get fuel any other way.

Only 3% of the world's water is drinkable. The rest is either contaminated, or seawater, or both.

You can go about four weeks without food, but only three days without water.

For maximum health, experts reckon you should drink approx. two liters of water each day. Coffee and booze don't count because both have diuretic effect on the body. Caffeine and alcohol both serve to squeeze water from cells, which means you lose more fluid you take on board.

If you wait until you're thirsty before you reach for the glass, then you're already dehydrated and the damage is done.

I live in New Orleans, and during Hurricane Katrina, there was a story of a guy stranded in his house and all he had was a gallon of water, and he survived I think it was almost 2 weeks.

I think that would depend on how much body fat you had. I am gonna guess about a month for the average person, but its just a guess. In this case, being fat would be an advantage.
