I've been on one called effexor 4 about 5 months for having depression and i just can't seem to think straight anymore like i'll be talking to someone on the phone 4 a couple of seconds and my mind will just go blank, i think i might be experiencing some withdrawl symptoms cause i just don't really go anywhere that much unless its a doctors app. ect.. I take multivitamins and i haven't had a problem wit them. I used to smoke ma******* a but not a whole lot and have been off it for 3 months so maybe my brain might be trying to readjust itself! I don't know i feel like i'ma go crazy ova this problem please if anyone can relate or has a story about a friend i would really appreciate it!! Thanks!!

You should talk this over with your doctor and he/she will probably recommend medication.

Most antidepressants have a laundry list of side effects that you should be aware of. Whenever your doc prescribes something for you.go to http://www.rxlist.com and see what to expect. Don't be bashful about telling your doc that the meds suck..they're not working for you..whatever. you are ultimately responsible for your own health.
I've taken Xanax, Effexor, Wellbutrin...you name it. Some were ok..some not. I now, due to proper diet..fresh air and sunshine ....don't take diddly. I'm not a real health freak either. I'm not Lance Armstrong by a long shot. I just don't eat crap no more..and get out and try to take in the day as much as can.
Depression, anxiety and panic disorders are bastards..I know. Been there...done that. But I NEVER, long term got anything out of a pill bottle. But did get a lot out of getting back into the game, walking, going to the park, etc., etc. I know that all sounds like a pipefull of sunshine up your a$$...but you gotta force yourself to it.
Good luck to you.

I was on an anti-depressant when I got post partum. It was called Amitryptylene (Triptizol) and I was walking around like a zombie. I couldn't focus on anything and felt as though I was spaced out all the time. My doctor changed me over to Prozac which suited me much better. I felt a lot more like a normal person after a couple of weeks on that. You should ask your doc if you can try something different. Different ones work better for different people so don't just settle for the one they gave you.
Good luck with that

Effexor takes time to get used to, so does a lack of pot. I can identify with both. You should talk to your doctor, let him know what's going on. He may want to change your dosage or try a different medication altogether. We're not all the same, we don't react to medications the same. I started on Prozac, went to Welbutrin and finally Effexor before I started feeling normal. Talk to your doctor. It's that important.

Wellbutrin, Celexa and zyprexa...They all have they side effects and with zyprexa i've gain 50lbs, with the Wellbrutrin i lost 25lbs now with Celexa my weight is maintained after a few weeks of feeling like I was going crazy, but I continued and now i'm actually back to feeling like my normal self again without depression.

But like you, I couldnt get out the house, and been out of work and been in the house for 4mths expect for a few doctor's appointment, until i kept missing them they sent the Crisis team out to my home to receive the treatment, now after 4 months I just been back out to work this week. Hang in there, the best is yet to come.
