Here is a home remedy regimen for dry hair:

Use mayonnaise: Use a dollop of mayonnaise on the palm of the hand and massage it to the head and leave it on for five minutes before having the bath. The recommended time for the mayonnaise treatment is an hour.

Spray the beer: If you do not get any relief from using the mayonnaise, you can use beer as a good setting lotion that gives your hair the crisp, healthy and shiny look. You can pour some beer into an empty pump bottle and spray on the hair after shampooing and towel dry. Then you can style or blow-dry the hair.

Shampoo minimally: choose a shampoo for dry, damaged hair.

Condition your hair: Conditioner glues cuticles back to the shaft and lubricates them. It also prevents static electricity, thus preventing its frizzy appearance.

Cut off the split ends: Every six weeks or so

This is awesome to use right after a good conditioning (with anything like pantene will do).

Then you can..

You can get this in gloss and it makes your hair shine. It's like shalacking (spell?) your hair.

I love it. Can be bought at Sally's.

Try using Joico's Triage Shampoo (not sure of spelling) and Moisture conditioner. You can also ocassionally once every week or two use K-Pak by joico. I don't recommend any non-professional products because most of them use fillers that make your hair feel good at first but once those fillers build up on your hair it makes it feel even worse. I have had great success even with damaged hair using those Joico poducts.

Try a hot oil treatment.

1st - Shampoo your hair with a moisturizing shampoo (check the label for cetyl alcohol and avoid these). Then, pat the hair dry. 2nd - Coat your hair with olive oil or jojoba oil, and put on a plastic conditioning cap.
3rd - Sit under the dryer for 30min.
4th - Rinse you hair with warm water. Pat hair dry and style as you normally would.

Also, try to avoid using heat to style your hair (i.e. curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers). Invest in a good hair dryer that you can sit under and dry your hair using gentle heat. Find a nice cream conditioner that you can use on a daily basis and be sure to check the label for alcohol.

Hamadi is delightful. I usually get it off ebay (I stock up b/c it's not on there a lot), but they have it at www.beautyhabit.com. It's expensive, but not as bad as Kerastase and it does last a while. The Ginger Soymilk hair wash is so gentle and the Shea hair cream is a miracle-worker...

Hi Lavender,
Go to Sally's beauty supplie and by hair mudd, if you have really thick hair use it everyother day. If you have thin hair try it once a wk. I love it I have thick coarse hair and it makes it shiny and soft. Aussie also makes a curing mudd for your hair but I haven't been able to find it in a store for a long time.

I use alot of dove products for my hair. What you do is shampoo twice and conditoner once! When you shampoo make sure that u dont scrub your scalp with your fingertips bc that could damage the scalp.

Look for shampoo made for dry hair. Don't use too many products because you'll just weigh down your hair and it'll start to look flat. It also leaves your hair oily.
