Something cardiovascular. To get better endurance you'll have to do some kind of exercise which works your heart more and more each time to make your heart stronger and stronger so that you aren't out of breath.
Begin with the exercise, (treadmill, elliptical, bike, aerobics, kickboxing or tae bo) and perform it for as long as you can. You'll want to stay at this level for several days in a row, then gradually increase your time performing it. You will gradually be able to do this activity longer and longer and this is your endurance. Your heart will become stronger and stronger enabling you to do the exercise longer.

swimming is a fabulous exercise to help your lungs develop, which in turn helps your endurance and stamina. Constant aerobic exercise is also a very good thing. I would recommend low-impact stuff...walking, for example, at a quicker pace, but with shorter steps as opposed to long strides, will build up muscles and improve overall health. Also, bycicling is another way to help with your stamina and endurance. Either way, consistancy is key, and eating healthfully is essential. A trainer, if you're planning on a marathon or any sort of specific athletic event, would be a good idea. :You can generally afford a trainer if you cut out all fast food in your life. ;) Good luck!
