Once a week. daily is an obsession and there are daily fluctuations with weight.

A month may be too little for proper tracking.

Some doctors say once a week, others say once a month. See your weigh flucturates so much during the course of a week that you could get a false reading and get discouraged. If you eat or drink something with too much sodium--I didn't know Old Bay Seaonsoning Salt had so much sodium--I carried around 9 lbs for two weeks because of it and if I wasn't used to the ups and downs that would have discouraged me not knowing what was going on. So to weigh yourself is not good unless you can handle that you may gain 6 pounds over night, but it may or may not be gone in 3 more. I hope this makes sense.

I weigh myself twice a week, on Monday and Friday.

Monday tells me how bad I was over the weekend and Friday tells me how good I've been all week.

Weigh yourself on the same days every time and at the same time of the day, this will give you the best readings for later comparison as to how well/bad you are doing.

After a couple of months then you can go to once a week, but again, make sure you do it on the same day each week and at the same time of day each time.

You should be weighing yourself every 2-3 weeks, because your weight is going to fluctuate too much to do it too often. Remember when you weigh, you're weighing everything, organs,bones, all is included! Who is to say how much fluid your organs will retain or expel every nite? Weighing is'nt accurate any more, according to the latest research.
Measuring is more accurate. Pick several sites, measure, and then measure again monthly.

At least once every waking hour. The only time you should skip a weigh in is if you just binged and you have yet to purge.....that would give you an unreasonably high number.
